Many of you have probably heard of the book "Love You Forever" by Robert Munsch
and even though Carson received it a few years ago from Meme and Poppy, it's just now made it into our nightly book rotation. I wanted to wait until Carson could better understand the story line and it seems that I was right to wait.
Tonight as I was reading the story, I was very emotional about the song the mother in the book sings to her little boy,
"I'll love you forever,
I'll like you for always,
As long as I'm living
my baby you'll be."
Throughout the story, the mother sings it to the boy as he grows up and then finally the boy sings it to his mother changing the last line to "...my Mommy you'll be." I was crying as I was trying to get through the story and Carson said to me "Mommy, are you sad?"
Me - "Yes."
Carson - "Why?"
Me - "The story the mom is singing in the story makes me sad because you are my baby and you are getting so big."
Carson - "Mommy, I'll love you forever...what's the next part?"
Me - "I'll like you for always."
Carson - "I'll like you for always, my Mommy you'll be."
And that my friends makes for a very good day indeed!

Happy New Year 2008!
As I type this it's February 1 and the first 31 days of the new year have just flown by. Things are good at Winn World, last month Carson and I headed out to California for a little fun in the sun. It was very cold in Nashville while we were gone, 13 degrees one morning according to my friend Jen who was updating me on the weather conditions while I was gone. Brrr! It was cool in California too - but not that cool, more like 45-50 which I'll take over 13 any day.
We had a great visit with my cousin Mike and Linda and Aunt Jayne and Uncle Edwin (who Carson called "Edward.") We stayed with Mike and Linda and I'm sure they were more than ready for us to leave, I mean they aren't used to having a 3 year old under foot all the time and it can be quite exhausting!
While we were there we visited the Santa Barbara Zoo which was the perfect size zoo for Carson. He kept talking about the giraffes and he was thrilled when he was able to feed one from a platform. Linda held him up and he wasn't scared at all. As you can see from the picture, 1/2 of his arm is in the giraffe's mouth but Carson didn't even flinch! Carson was able to feed a giraffe from a platform and it was amazing to see.We visited with Aunt Jayne and Uncle Edwin twice while were in California and Carson made a great buddy in Edwin/Edward. My Uncle is 85 years young and played with Carson like he was 1/2 that age - it was such a blessing to see him interacting with Carson and playing cards, coloring, etc. What a treat! And my Aunt Jayne is just the most loving, caring person in the world! I love her so very much!!!

Zoe...
Ok, ok, I hear you - Zoe wasn't pictured on the Christmas card and I now realize that was a huge mistake! I got your phone calls, e-mails, etc....I get it - she should have been included! In the words of my friend Ashlea (Ladd), "poor Zoe is the anti-Maggie." She is however, growing on us (ok, me). Maybe it's that she turned one year old on Christmas day, which also passed without much fan fare, again, this wouldn't have happened if we still had Maggie.
One good thing - Carson loves the heck out of Zoe...she let's him pull her around, lay on her, etc and there is no way Maggie Winn would have gone for any of that ;o)
